Webster Community Arts Foundation announces this year’s Classical Closing musical programming with a concert featuring Trombones of the St. Louis Symphony. Classical Closing will take place on Thursday, October 23 at 7:00 pm in Wehrli Chapel on Eden’s campus. The event is free of charge and open to all.
Classical Closing is an annual event put on by the WCAF to mark the closing day of the Webster Groves Farmers Market. Held in Gazebo Park in previous years, this year’s event will take place indoors at Eden Seminary to avoid cancellation due to inclement weather.
Attendees can look forward to sounds from the St. Louis Symphony’s Symphony in Your Neighborhood program, which features veteran trombonists Timothy Myers, Jonathan Reycraft, and Gerard Pagano, who have performed with the quartet for several years. Amanda Stewart joins the St. Louis Symphony this year after serving as Principal Trombone of the San Antonio Symphony.
“We want to give special thanks to Eden Seminary for hosting this wonderful event,” says Jeane Vogel, WCAF Executive Director. “Those who have attended Classical Closing in years past will enjoy the acoustics and atmosphere of Wherli Chapel, and the celebrated work of these acclaimed trombonists. It’s a lovely event to usher in the fall.”
